There is immense excitement amongst the audience to witness the much awaited Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju starring Ranbir Kapoor as the yesteryear actor. While the audience is eagerly waiting for the trailer of the film, makers Rajkumar Hirani and Vinod Chopra showcased the trailer to Ranbir Kapoor’s father Rishi Kapoor. The veteran actor was pleasantly surprised at the fine performance of his son.

On watching the trailer, a teary-eyed Rishi Kapoor said, “The way Rajkumar Hirani has presented Ranbir is the biggest Superb thing, the boy has really done well. I am so proud of him. I swear on Neetu and Ranbir, I did not think it was Ranbir, I thought it was Sanjay Dutt.” The proud dad further added saying, “You don’t know how emotionally triggered I am right now at the point where Vinod (Chopra) and Raju (Rajkumar Hirani) have shown me this trailer. The first appearance of Ranbir from the jail, I thought it was Sanjay Dutt.”

After praising the young actor, Rishi Kapoor jokingly said, “I shouldn’t praise him so much, He’s good and still got to improve, and still got to do good work. I love you my boy (Ranbir)”.

The biopic depicts the various stages of Sanjay Dutt’s life, the teaser of which has already piqued the interests of the audience. Sanju showcases the highs and lows of Sanjay Dutt’s life-giving an insight into the unbelievable story of the actor. The teaser has garnered immense appreciation for the apt portrayal of Sanjay Dutt’s life. While Ranbir Kapoor is being showered with praises for his amazing transformation into each phase of Sanjay Dutt’s life, Rajkumar Hirani is hailed for his realistic portrayal.

The director released multiple posters of the film, revealing the varied looks of Ranbir Kapoor from the biopic. All the posters have gained immense appreciation from the audience and critics alike for the striking resemblance to Sanjay Dutt.

Written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film will also stars an ensemble cast in addition to Ranbir Kapoor which includes Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor and Dia Mirza amongst others. Sanju new poster: Sonam Kapoor gives us serious Neerja feels as she brings back the 80s as Ranbir Kapoor’s girlfriend

Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju trailer will be dropped on May 30 and the filmmaker has promised us that he will release the look of every actor till then. Today, he posted a still from a movie which showcases the crazy lover boy side of the actor and it has Sonam Kapoor as his girlfriend from his early days. Sanju portrays an incredible story of Sanjay Dutt which his closed ones claim is stranger than fiction. Well, Sonam’s role in the movie was touted to be similar to Tina Munim or Madhuri Dixit’s real life characters. On being asked about the same, she has revealed that she has a small but important part in the movie and she is not playing an actress. Well, while the makers keep the suspense on about Sonam’s character we could not help but get major Neerja feels when we saw this still.

One look at Sonam’s retro look and we are transported back to her 2016 release, Neerja. With a similar hair do and that charming smile, she gave us strong déjà vu feels which has piqued our interest to see her as a lady love to young Sanjay Dutt. She will romance Ranbir on screen after their debut film and it is a perfect cast, we must say! Since there is some history there and masses would surely lap their Jodi up once more. Here’s how Rishi Kapoor reacted to the trailer of his son Ranbir Kapoor’s film Sanju

Well, many films which feature Ranbir Kapoor as the leading man have been shown to Rishi Kapoor. The veteran actor, however, has never overtly praised his son’s work sticking to the fact that he has been one of the biggest critics of his son. However, we hear that the teaser of Sanju has left Kapoor senior heavily impressed.

For the uninitiated, the teaser of Sanju that released recently showcased the varied avatars sported by real life Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt in his life span. The film is expected to showcase his life until he was released from imprisonment. The said teaser of Sanju was welcomed with mixed reactions but if there was one factor that everyone agreed to was the striking resemblance.

Many accepted that Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor had a striking similarity in the trailer and that the Kapoor lad imbibed Dutt’s behavior with aplomb. Similar was the opinion of Rishi Kapoor. He was not only impressed with his son’s homework on Sanjay Dutt but he was completely blown away with it. Furthermore, the veteran actor was shown some more glimpses of the film to get his opinion. Seeing it, Rishi Kapoor seems to have had a tear or two in his eyes, according to recent reports.

These reports also suggest that when Ranbir Kapoor was told about the reaction, he too got emotional after listening to his father’s reaction on the film. It is not a new fact that Ranbir Kapoor has always respected and admired his father’s work. He also considers his opinion on films as very integral and hence owing to the same, his reaction on Sanju left Ranbir overwhelmed.

Speaking on Sanju, it is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Fox Star Studios. It features an ensemble cast of Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal with Anushka Sharma in a cameo. It is slated to release on June 29.
